You travel by jeep to Mongar, famous for the region’s unique textiles, from where you can walk to the village of Menji, the starting point of the trek.

Day 1 Mongar - Menji
You depart from Mongar and head north to the Lhuntse district, which is known for its Kishuthara textiles. You stop at the Khurba Zam Bridge for a walk through the valley to Khoma Khoma, where you will visit several families that practice traditional weaving techniques. You then go back to Lhuntse and visit the Lhuntse Dzong, a Buddhist monastery situated in the valley with views of the Kurichhu River. In the evening you depart for Menji where you will spend the night.Day 2 Menji - Pemi
Today you make a 2-hour, 500-meter ascent through the forest to Pemi. The path is narrow and steep and takes you to a meadow on the ridge. From the meadow, the trail continues through the forest until you reach the shepherd’s cabin, where you will spend the night at an elevation of 2450 m.Day 3 Pemi - Toupang
Today you make a long trek of approximately 8 hours through the Dongla Pass. The area is known as the "Nine Sisters" because of the nine passes that can be found there. The Dongla follows a slippery, muddy trail; it is a tough route, but you will be rewarded with magnificent views. You will spend the night in Toupong at an elevation of 2508 m.Day 4 Toupang - Trashiyangtse
Today you will descend towards the Shakshing Valley and cross the Dongdi Chu River. From here, it's a short walk to the Trashiyangtse Dzong, with its typical Bhutanese-style cantilever bridge. After passing the Kholong Chu River at 1745 m elevation you arrive at the end of the trek, Trashiyangtse, where you spend the night.Day 5 Trashiyangtse jeep Bomdeling Wildlife sancturay - Trashigang
Today you will be brought by jeep from Trashiyangtse to Bomdeling, were you can visit a Wildlife Sanctuary for the rare black-necked cranes which reside there in the winter (late October to April). You then continue on to Trashigang where you will visit the Trashigang Dzong, situated 400 m above the river Gamri and featuring a beautiful view of the valley. This dzong was built in 1659 and renovated in 1950. Today it is the main monastery and local administrative center. You will spend the night in Trashigang.Day 6 Departure
